Touchstone provides consulting services to alternative asset managers to sharpen their marketing focus and convey the most accurate and attractive presentation of their firms and strategies to the institutional investor community. 

We speak the same language as institutional investors and understand their concerns and the way they view the world.  This specialized knowledge allows us to focus an alternative manager’s marketing message so that it communicates as effectively as possible with institutional staff members charged with the responsibility of managing the manager selection process.

While alternative asset managers are experts in the management of their own strategies, most do not have the same level of insight into how institutions select managers to gain exposure to specific types of return streams.  We collaborate with the manager to define how best to characterize and present their strategy.

Our advisory work results in improved and more effective marketing materials, including: offering memoranda, presentations, monthly or quarterly investor communications, due diligence questionnaires, and similar marketing documents and exhibits. 

We also collaborate with managers to develop the more effective ways to communicate in person, by telephone and in email correspondence with potential investors.  If necessary, we will test out various communications to determine which works best in an iterative process of improvement that uses market feedback to optimize the results. 

These services are offered either on a standalone basis, or, more commonly, along with an assignment to raise institutional capital for a manager.  The process is always iterative.
